| But this room - presumably the banquet hall is too ghastly to even contemplate sitting in, never mind having a dinner in. The designer must have been on some kind of drugs. It looks more like a butchery than a warm, inviting banquet hall. How on earth could this have been signed off by anyone knowing that state house would be used to receive international guests and dignitaries? It is absolutely shocking - maybe that's what was intended: Get them out of there as quickly as possible...... |

| There are nice touches, Comrade_007, but overall it is cold and distant and out of proportion. One wonders how many rooms will gather dust and never be used. The maintenance costs must be substantial. |

You are not SERIOUS Johannes105,are your dear?? we dont mean the President to sleep or stay in a podok all we wanted is for the state house to be off reasonable pricing. Hell, there are kiddies roaming the streets, having nowhere to go and our government putting on a blind eye apparently no money, but then Wolla for a big, massive place like our state house and man the place is not yet done, some more mulla to be spend, Gosh nows how much more. Our taxes is giving us grief here dude!!! if we talking about Namibia being a PROUD Nation then lets get them kids of the streets cos they are scaring tourists away, have you seen them going after the tourists in the city centre? I personally also got attacked by them once, a friend of mine who came here to do volunteer work was also attacked, handbag grabbed by street kids and you telling me we should be proud of Namibia while our very own hell knows how old kids are doing these things to ruin our beautiful country's reputation. So Government spare some money and build more Caring homes for these kids. am not saying they shouldnt have build the state house, but they should have been reasonable with the amont of money. have you seen the price of cooking oil nowadays, from 9dolla to a wooping 17dollas and our taxes is rising like hell and all we left with end of month is peanuts.

| How many more of them are we gonna have to spent on. As many as they could be, it could be a small sollace if Namibians could get something in return in the form of gaining experience constructing it or at least the respect for footing the bill from all those dictators who will make the use of it. |

| Senior Member | phelakuti, Are you expecting an invasion? Because I see only our own, constitutionally and democratically elected Namibian presidents making use of the Namibian state house....... and none of them is named "Dick Tator" ..... |

I entirely agree with your sentiments, especially about street kids, but I doubt something will be done soon, because if you look at our government, they are quick to bring relieve if it is in the interest of the 'majority' faction , but then again the street kids clearly hail from a khoi origin, so we be dreaming if the governments sees the plight of these kids..... As for the oil price, man, is it bad, or is it bad....I propose we deliberately stop bying those goods with inflated pricing, maybe that may force the prices down(know the old economic trick of demand and supply right?)....after all, less cooking oil might lead to a much healthier heart

| Very ostentatious. For a little time I forget to think Namibia is one of the poorest countries globally. Some stuff is too much liek the banquet hall because it looks like inside of a butchery. Is this namibian taste? Peepz get some move on your style! |
