| Have these construction sites now become Chinese territory or what gives Chinese companies the right to raise their flags on our sovereign territory? Is this the act of people who think they have conquered our soil and that gives them the right to raise their flags on our territory? Have we now been subjugated to the new colonial masters and they have claimed their stake by raising their flags over our towns and cities? And why is there never a Namibian flag, either alongside or - as it is supposed to be - flying higher? Is this not Namibia anymore? What they should be doing is flying our Namibian flag to demonstrate to the Namibian people that they are on our soil and respect our laws and traditions. Do you think for a minute Chinese flags are flying in either North American or European cities in this manner? Do you think for a minute that Namibian construction companies would be allowed to raise their flags over Chinese towns and cities (not that it will ever come to this) in this manner?

| I am surprised that there are no comments yet! Am trying to find out when and why a FOREIGN flag may be flown in Namibia. I seem to remember an upset wannabe some time (years) ago about some or other flag ....... In essence, I agree with the sentiment, though, that foreign flags should only be flown at officially designated places and/or events. |

| I wouldn't worry if it was not for the fact that it is Chinese policy to send hundreds of thousands of Chinese citizens to all parts of Africa. The plans exist, and the new citizens are arriving and settling. |

| Just make sure that the aggression or hard feelings aren't geared towards the workers that come over here. I hear a lot of "Chinese are so this, Chinese are so that" and it is racism, which should never be tolerated. Chinese people who move here, leave their homeland, their freinds and most of their families and it is hard for them, too. If they get relocated to an African country they are in a completely different world and get blamed for taking jobs, etc. But the problem is not them, they are only the trigger, the surface issue. The problem is depply rooted in leaders, corruption and shady buisness. |

| ...And the Africans allow them, by denying their own the construction tenders, and awarding all lucrative tenders to chinese, what e.g. Namibian Government could have done, considering they are sitting with a formally disadvantaged masses, is to require at least a Namibian partner, or award ALL tenders to Namibian citizen's and the chinese could have been sub-contracted by Namibians.....this could also have prevented any chinese from flying any flags, since they basically would have reported to Namibians......... |

| I do not agree with China flag to be hoisted in our country, however I think coming to other issue, Chinese deserve respect like all other citizen, stop jealousy with the Chinese, all in all there are many international companies all over the world, remember Namibia is mix economy and people should learn to compete, if the Chinese offer better why not get the job? How many Indigent Construction Company do we have here in Namibia? I can tell you none, everything is from South Africa and South Africa is just a foreign like China. How many Namibian form a consolidated and strong company here none, we have to blame ourselves and not Chinese, however remember China is the biggest market economy in the world, if you don't have access to the Chinese market then you're blind, even in America or Britain you found Chinese there too, and they are the biggest economy as well, so stop this homophobias against China.
