Great! Let us indeed wait and see. Until then, it's
Day 36 and counting ....
Will be interesting to see who is re-developing the site, i.e. will it be the company that supposedly/apprantly won the tender years ago? I hold my breath.....

"Nothing is complete and thus nothing is exempt from criticism." - James Luther Adams:
Good thing I didn't hold my breath Mie1 - turns out I would not have made it. To my surprise (NOT) nothing has changed despite thhe honourable Mr. Chairman's accouncement that "NBC is in the process of redesigning its
website. Should be completed within the next two weeks."
And so we are on, let's see:
Day 56
and we still have exactly the same Rosh Pinah story. Never mind two weeks. Now I wouldn't even expect the web site to be completely redeveloped by now if that is what is actually happening, but at least put up a notice that regular news will be provided by a certian date. As it is, it's business as usual I suppose.
These sort of things are so sad and disgraceful they become laughable and we become the laughing stock. Why do I care about a crappy web site? Because it is symptomatic of the rot that has set in in our publis institutions. The rot is so deep that actually, really, nobody cares about that either. Why should anyone rock the boat if it means their job would be on th eline, eh? I mean what is honour? What is pride? Who gives a stuff, eh?
And I'd bet my life that if someone were to investigate why the company that won the tender did not do any work on the site they would either be complete stone-walled in their effort to get any information or find out that something is indeed rather fishy. I remain open to be convinced everything is otherwise.

Comrade_007,
I am sad to say, but I must agree with you! I had hoped that an e-mail to Matthew would elicit more than just the promise.
But, I must add, the atmosphere inside the nbc is, according to several sources, "poisonous" .......... I suppose everyone is now clinging onto their jobs like crazy .........
I am a bit more optimistic.
They have requested FTP details and I even tried to follow up if it is working. I am sure we will see a new site very soon. The delay is probably due to someone requesting minor changes or something small.
It is always difficult to develop a website for such a large corporation with so many sub departments and so many people with their own ideas on what the site should be.
All I can say: A bit more patients.

Uncle Paul - you may have already noticed: We have a brakthrough of sorts!! The new NBC web site is up and from what I can see at first glance it looks pretty decent. There's not much national news yet, but I'm sure they are working on that....
Let me thank you for raising this issue. I believe firmly that the change is in large part due to the fact that you raised this issue here on Hellonam.com and that Mie1also pursued it with his contacts.
I still think ti is disgraceful that the site was allowed to languish for year after year and I remain convinced that if we were to dig a little deeper there is another untold story. Be that as it may, this change is not disgraceful and I certainly look forward to some more national news!!![]()

Now lets push the others. I mean, the Ministry of trade and Industry states:
"The primary role of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which is headed by Honourable Immanuel Ngatjizeko (pictured left), is to spearhead trade and industrial development in the country, as well as promote and attract local and foreign investment."
